Dental implants are replacements for natural teeth which are fixed and do not need to be taken out for cleaning purposes. The implant is placed surgically with local anesthesia. It is a simple, one-visit procedure similar to doing a filling. Implant is placed in the bone and the natural gum tissue covers the implant until the implant is healed and set in place. In about four months, the implant is uncovered and an implant crown is placed.
Prothesis such as hip replacements, and knee replacements have been used for many years which function similar to a natural joint. The dental implants are smaller in size and heal and work just as well as natural teeth. There is no special maintenance required other than normal flossing and brushing.
Replacing missing teeth with implants or an implant bridge is a better option than the traditional method of replacing a missing tooth by reshaping adjacent teeth and placing a bridge.
When the placement and restoration of implants is done well, the longevity of this treatment is more cost-effective than making a bridge using natural teeth which may have to be redone over the lifetime of the individual.
To make the implant treatment more affordable, we offer multiple implant packages which saves time and money. To find out more, please call us for a consultation at 607-785-1900. We can also offer patient references who have had this treatment done by Dr. Kamodia.
